Community Capacity Building

The Regent Park Community Ministry seeks to EDUCATE and EMPOWER people experiencing poverty, as well as the church, the non-profit sector, and local neighbours and business communities. We do this in a few realms:

  • Educating church communities, clergy, and staff around effective engagement and relationship building, crisis engagement and de-escalation.

  • Engaging and consulting with church communities who are making big changes and are interested in learning about fresh and alternative expressions of worship, community advocacy, and engagement with marginalized people in their neighbourhood.

  • Agency training events and capacity building discussions. We share our experience and expertise on compassionate and meaningful community engagement with new and seasoned front-line outreach and drop-in staff.

Some education, consultation and training events that are open to the public may be featured on our Updates page. Get in touch with us to find out more.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

Regent Park Community Ministry acknowledges that the land that we work on has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to share this land.
